Today I Voted, Maybe for the Last Time?

 Today, I voted. As it should come as no surprise to you all, I voted Democrat all down ticket. The good news is that the line for early voting was long at the Oswego Village Hall. Hooray, Democracy!

I wish it was always like that for every election, but this one seems to be the most important. The volunteer at the polling place was glad it was busy, and I responded, “As a fan of our electoral process, I am very happy to see a line this long and it’s not even voting day.” Regardless of how either one of us felt, she smiled and agreed very much.


For someone who is a big fan of our electoral process, I was happy to see all these people taking part in our democracy!  I want it to continue!  But then a great sadness came over me.  One of the candidates has no respect for our electoral process, one said that in 2020 the election was stolen from him, the same candidate is running on using our military, the military he consistently degrades, to go after his political opponents.  


I can’t tell you that it’s not hyperbole when I say to you that this could be the last time we vote, at least legitimately if he wins.  He and his handlers (Vance) will be using him to dismantle the “Administrative State” that they hate so much.  They will get rid of all the agencies that are supposed to make us a better union, like the Department of Education, Social Security/Medicare, etc.  (Now, I understand why the “Heritage Foundation” named themselves what they did…) So you in the “Green Party” take note that this will mean the Environmental Protection Agency.  And if you are upset with the Biden administration handling the Israeli/Palestinian crisis, wait until Trump/Vance take office, remember he moved the embassy from Tel Aviv to Jeruselum and put his name on it. Or is our short-term memory that bad?  Americans do not seem to have any long-term memory at all. 


And what about the Nazi-level threats of deportation?  To round up human beings and send them to their demise or relocate them not caring about any peril, seems a little redundant. You don’t have to be a historical expert of United States history to know that we seem to do this a lot, or you don’t care?  I mean does the Trail of Tears ring a bell? What about the Japanese internment camps?  Shit, slavery…how many more sins are you all going to let our government commit? Well, we ended a two-decades-long war, which ended badly by this Administration because of a worse deal made by the previous fucked up Administration. (This is the only time, I am going to both sides something).


So anyway, the ONE thing that should have disqualified Trump from even running again was the January 6th Insurrection. In 250 years, he fucked up our one democratic crowning achievement, a peaceful transfer of power. As a Political Science nerd, that was the one thing that I was always proud of about my country, and I am far from being a “patriot”.  I honestly do not think that you know how significant that is in human history. 


Many ways I could disqualify him. This could be it. And we must admit that an orange, conman, reality star will be the one taking it all down with the help of some hateful other bastards.

If you are a fan of the Orange Bastard, why?  Is your anger for the rest of us so great that you want us back into the shadows?  Live in the white Christian world that you all have imagined in your head, but keep it there, and let others also live. This is it. There are a lot of political activists who are holding on to hope that our better angels will win, but I think the demons are putting up a fight. I do not have any faith in the American people doing what is right. Fuck, they complain about feeding the poor and helping others. 


I am putting a podcast together, but I am not sure if I want to call it “Politics Motherhood and Politics”. It sounds too benign and moderate. I can assure you that I am anything but moderate.  But maybe I will, just so I can be misleading with the title, and then shock others when they hear it.

I did do a rant today if you’re interested. It’s disorganized and truly a fucking rant. 


I am angry and that’s all I know. The fight will not stop after November 5th, no matter who wins. Because if Harris wins and the Dems take the House and Senate, I will hold their feet the fire. And if Trump wins, well, I think I will set the world on fire. (Literally or metaphorically? Who knows? Both.)

Dear Asshole Americans who voted for the Orange Motherf*cker (especially family members), A few days ago was January 6, 2025, for those keeping track, it was a day in which Congress routinely certifies the Presidential Election. No One Elected Elon Musk (Or Any Billionaire Overlord)

  It's all over the news and the observations about the power structure that now exists in the White House has been made perfectly clear.  The press conference in the Oval Office with Donald Trump at the desk, silent and only speaking when it seemed when he had permission, while Elon Musk, with his small son picking his nose, did all the talking. It's really a depressing scene as one of the tech oligarchs actually thinks that HE won the election, as the shadow of a man, Trump, who was elected sits there confused. (Maybe Musk did win, as it seems that he bought it.)
