Another Rant: Rising Up

 

It's like they want us to rise up...

But then say, "Not that much!"

They want us to be angry,

But "Not that angry!"

They want us to fight,

"But do it without violence."

When the fascists behave violently they want us to behave peacefully.

We try, but how does it help when that peace is met with violence?

Then the fascists tell them:

"You see how yours behave! How dare you all to call out our violence! Hypocrites!"

Then they join the fascists by condemning us!

Fuck them!

I often tell people that I am a peace activist not a pacifist. They'd be better to know the fucking difference.

It is preferable that protests be peaceful. No one wants violence. But at times when we are pushed to the brink of fear, of despair, and desperation, we need to take a stand of any kind. Oftentimes, it is not the protesters who are the first ones to draw damage or blood, often it is those who stand on the side of the oppressive state.

In our society, it seems that the law and order, that the right-wing like to tout, is to protect property, not people. And when it is the poor, the working class, the "leftists", and/or non-white people, our protests are labeled, "riots". Meanwhile white men, who are stupid pawns for the wealthy, take a state capital with guns or storm the Capitol and shit on Nancy Pelosi's desk, it's a protest. Which I don't understand why the left doesn't follow their lead. I would love to shit on Johnson's desk about now. Or maybe the desk in the Oval Office. (But rumor is that he would like that, oh, wait, that is piss, nah, I could do both.) Oh, yes, that's right, we are supposed to be the peaceful ones. Let white boys go over a state border to shoot and kill us for protesting. Yes. I try.

But if it is difficult for me to be the "better" person, I can't imagine what it is like to be on the street as a member of a targeted community. I often think about our indigenous. What was it like when these assholes came in swooped up their land? And couldn't one argue that they have lived under some type of fascism since then? Then when they rose up, well, the state targeted them. It has happened to so many groups in this country, I think maybe democracy never existed. I mean even with my gender, we've only been allowed to participate for the last 105 years. Anyway, it seems that for the first time in our history, in world history, we are so close to being that diverse democracy that has been promised, but then the racists and wealthy rather burn democracy down rather than share it with the rest of us. I guess that is the true meaning of "Make America..." You all know that stupid saying.

As a friend of mine once pointed out when protests turned chaotic in 2020 in Chicago, then Mayor Lori Lightfoot sent the police and other forces to protect downtown Chicago (the Loop), because Mayor Lightfoot only cared about the "White Money". As my friend saw her South Side neighborhood being looted and destroyed, all the police and reinforcement were all downtown. For the rest of my life, I will remember that she gave the name to this classist and racist system, "The White Money." Again, because really it's about protecting property rather than people. It definitely isn't about human rights.

Politicians only care about the wealthy's property, especially if you factor in class and race. They do not care about the actual people that they are there to "protect and serve".

Now, this regime has decided to send the United States Marines on American people! He and his fascists have declared war on their own! And the hope that many of us had that there is no way military members and their leaders would obey this directive! A unconstitutional directive against their own! So much for the hope that our military would defend the US Constitution instead the whims of a conman, wannabe dictator. Our military is only used to protect the same money that police are paid to do. And ironically, it's all with our tax money. I guess with lack of global wars to invade brown and black countries, our military members are willing to attack the protesters in LA, Chicago, and other cities in the same fucking country they swore to defend. Of course, that has been the point of our military "excursions" for almost 80 years, all to protect the "freedoms" of capitalists.

I don't know, maybe I am angry that our military seems like it is turning against us. AND they followed these orders! Well, I shouldn't be surprised, it is the norm of fascist regimes to use the military and police force. Historically speaking, the military and police always side with the authoritarians (Fascists or otherwise). Also, do military and police members only watch Fox "News", and other cesspool "news agencies". Or maybe like a few of my younger family members, get their "news" from Joe Rogan, a man who hosted a game show daring contestants to each horse dicks. Last I thought, he was a comedian, not a fucking political intellectual.

The good news is that a few will have a sense of justice and take the side of the people.

All I know is that the military and many local police budgets are excessive. And a just society doesn't need an excessive amount to do their jobs. Unless of course, it is to protect the "white money" as my friend said.

Anyway, know that even as Democratic leaders are turning against those of us rising up to meet head on the attack on our democracy, we will not give in. Go ahead and call us anarchists or rioters, join the fascist GOP has they condemn us for taking to the streets in the name of rule of law, due process, human rights, and democracy. I see that many of them are turning against this, telling the protesters to wave American Flags, meanwhile these same Democratic leaders fucking have the nerve to waive Ukrainian flags. What Mexico is just too brown to many of you?! (Don't get me wrong, I support Ukraine fighting off the Russian aggression. But more on that in another writing. But your racism is showing just a bit with that one.) My opinion, if motherfuckers are allowed to wave Nazi and Confederate flags, my people are allowed to wave fucking other nations' flags! So fuck you to the centrists who think other wise. Condemn Nazi flags! Condemn the Confederate flags!. I was born and raised North of the Ohio River, so that fucking garbage is none of my ancestry. The South lost, get over it.

With that being said, I will continue to rise up "by any means necessary". I will keep speaking out against this system. I will continue to work against white supremacy, fascism, authoritarianism, and excessive wealth. I will fight against homophobic and transphobic assholes. Just know that I will continue to fight for human rights. And I will fight for MY democracy.

Justice can be reached through peace, but the members of the state need to remember that they are there because of us. We pay their wages, We pay their salaries, AND most of all THEY need to remember that they are one of us. You are not them. No matter how much they tell you that. No matter how much you look like them. The assholes, like Trump, Theil, Musk, Miller, and Johnson, see you as they see us, insignificant slaves to make their money, while risking our freedoms, our fucking lives. When our sons, daughters, etc die in wars or protecting our communities, it is for their capitalist freedoms, not mine, it's for oil and minerals, it's for their buddies to get richer. But historically speaking all these words will mean nothing. I do not expect any of them to rise up with us. It is just the way it is.

But, what a glorious image it creates to see those of us in the police and military actually be on the side of the people instead of the "White Money"!

Honestly, my last hope that if Trump called in the military to our communities that the Marines would have done the just thing and refused, but that hope is dead. Everything I was taught about the Oath that military members take in service, seems to be a lie. Again, I am on a rant.

Just know that I will use my 2nd Amendment Right to defend the other 9 Bill of Rights and the 19th. And if that orange clown motherfucker and his ass-licking GOP try to run him for a third-term, well, defense of the 22nd Amendment might be needed. (Because unlike most on the left, as I have learned, I am for term limits across the board, and think that the 22nd should be expanded to include members for Congress and the Judicial Branch, because the longer a human being has power the more corrupt and egotistical they get, even if you like them. Sorry, Bernie, love ya though.) Anyway, I am not threatening violence against anyone. I would rather have peace. But as Martin Luther King has said and I am going to do a bad job paraphrasing, without peace there can be no justice. And I would rather die standing than live on my knees. Ok, enough with the phrases. But that is not the way this should go...but if we are met with violence, I am not sure, I could practice passive resistance.

Anyway, I will keep protesting. I will keep writing. I will keep screaming. I will keep fighting. I will keep using peaceful means, such as civil disobedience. I will try passive resistance...but I will not condemn others in defending themselves. I will not condemn communities for defending themselves. I will not be like these Democratic politicians. I am on the side of the people.
