Thank You Veterans that Voted for Harris

Veterans who voted for Harris to save democracy: 

I want to say thank you. I want to say thank you to my husband for being one of those veterans.

You refused to support a man who showed nothing but contempt for you and other veterans. 

You refused to support a man who does not care for the Constitution of our country that you served.

You paid attention that he called veterans and service members losers. 

You understood that he ridiculed Senator McCain for being a POW during his time in Vietnam. 

You understand that you all served to fight fascists not elect them.

You believe in the rule of law instead of reckless disregard for our processes.

You believed in the peaceful transfer of power as he broke our almost 250 years of that tradition on January 6, 2021, calling for the will of the American people to be overturned.

You have experienced what it is like to give up a part of your life to selflessly serve your community, your state, and your country. Again, I say thank you for voting for her. A woman who, even though she never served in the military, still spent her career serving her community, state, and country.  

You recognize honor when you see it.  Thank you.

For the Veteran who voted for him:

You all lack honor and self-respect, and your hypocrisy speaks loudly and clearly that the only amendment in the Constitution that you all seem to care about is the 2nd. When he and his oligarchs dismantle the "administrative state," the VA is part of that, we can hope they do not touch it, I hope you will be ready to realize that you have more in common with the rest of us.

You all voted for him even though he called you all losers.

You all voted for him even though he did not serve and claimed bone spurs.

You all voted for him even though he does not believe in the rule of law.

You all voted for him even though he does not know the meaning of selflessness.

You all voted for him even though he could give a shit about freedom, etc.

And since I am being honest, not one of the wars in the past 50 years pertained to MY freedom. It pertained to the freedom of the rich, like the spoiled rich convicted felon you voted for, who now will serve in the White House.

Well, I feel better now pointing out that there are two types of veterans, the ones that pay attention and still feel it is their obligation to protect those most vulnerable in our nation.  

The others, I wish you the best of luck when it comes crashing down.

Never again.

Dear Asshole Americans who voted for the Orange Motherf*cker (especially family members), A few days ago was January 6, 2025, for those keeping track, it was a day in which Congress routinely certifies the Presidential Election. It felt normal, unlike the last Presidential election certification.  On January 6, 2021, our years of tradition and the core of our democracy was challenged for the first time when there was no peaceful transfer of power.  Instead we watched as "Americans" stormed the Capitol all in the name of saving their Orange Bastard messiah from being "cheated out of an election."  We all know, including you all, that it was a fucking lie from, to use Jon Stewart's words, a "whiny bitch".  The current election certification was completed without the horror that we witnessed four years ago.   As the markets open this morning, I am fretting what that means for my husband and I, who were told in our 20s and 30s that we should be saving our 401Ks for a rainy day. We both are from poor/mid working-class families and both went to college (he served in the Army before I met him). We worked our way “up” to middle class with 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 guinea pigs, and one rabbit.  If you came to our neighborhood you would see a typical suburban setting of homes built in the early 2000s, and to my chagrin, all beige, except a few that went bold with dark grey, slate blue, and red.  This is our second home and we bought it on short sale in 2014. Our first home was in an older part of Joliet, an American Four-Square, all brick built in 1928. We bought that home in 2003 then in 2008, we saw our first home plummet in value over the next four years.
